Turkey & Veggie ‘Sausage’ Rolls

Turkey Mince & Veg ‘Sausage’ Rolls

1kg turkey mince

1 grated zucchini

1 grated carrot

1/2 finely diced onion

1 grated Apple

3 Tbs sweet chilli sauce

1 Tbs garlic powder

3 Tbs organic tomato paste

1/4 cup of cheese (optional)

1/4  orgran rice crumbs (optional)

1tsp Salt

Sprinkle of oregano (optional)

1 egg beaten for glaze

3 sheets of Puff pasty split in half

3 sheets of Mountain bread split in half


Place all ingredients except egg, pastry and mountain bread into a Bowl and bind well with your hands.


Place a big handful in a log shape onto the 1/2 pastry or 1/2 mountain bread sheets.

Once all evenly distributed between the 6 sheets, begin to roll them up into a log.


Place the sausage rolls on 2 trays, brush the whisked egg over the top, sprinkle with sesame seeds, cut them into whatever size pieces your prefer, then place them in the oven and cook for 30-45 mins on 180-200 degrees or until golden brown and cooked through..


If they go soggy on the bottom, I flip them over and then cook then for an extra 5-10 mins to brown the bottoms up and make them a little crispier.


This serves our family of 4 for 2 lunches. We generally eat half of this batch and freeze the other half for another Saturday lunch. It could go a little further, it just depends how much the family love and eat as many as us In one sitting.
